About the Course

Money Laundering is a comprehensive training program designed to provide Law Enforcement Officers with the analytical skills and statutory knowledge required to follow illicit financial trails. The curriculum opens with an Introduction that delivers a comprehensive Overview of the financial underworld, breaking down the three classic Stages of Money Laundering - placement, layering, and integration. Participants then transition into the Enforcement modules, where they will learn about Laws established as the foundation for detection and the legal elements required to successfully charge and prosecute sophisticated Crimes of illicit concealment. To build an unassailable financial case, Investigators will learn how to navigate and leverage BSA Forms (Bank Secrecy Act filings), including Suspicious Activity Reports (SARs) and Currency Transaction Reports (CTRs), transforming raw financial data into actionable leads for Financial Investigations. The course explicitly details illicit Methods, training participants to recognize Common Techniques—such as structuring and trade-based laundering—alongside the specific Red Flags that indicate a business or account is being used to scrub dirty money. The final phase of the training connects Officers with the critical Resources necessary to support cross-jurisdictional and multi-Agency investigations. A heavy emphasis is placed on utilizing FinCEN (Financial Crimes Enforcement Network), teaching Investigators how to legally request data and tap into global financial networks. By pairing these regulatory tools with Additional Support, this course empowers Local and Federal Law Enforcement professionals to permanently dismantle the financial engines driving drug cartels and organized crime networks.
