About This Course

Specialized Units is a comprehensive training program designed to prepare Law Enforcement Officers for the complex demands of dedicated investigative and tactical assignments. The curriculum begins with a deep dive into Investigations, providing a comprehensive breakdown of the step-by-step Investigative Process and advanced Investigative Techniques required to build high-level cases. From there, the training shifts focus toward dismantling high-tier criminal enterprises through Organized Crime modules, where participants will explain the role of Drug Trafficking Organizations in the drug trade and master proactive, multi-jurisdictional Strategies for Disruption. To successfully infiltrate these networks, the course shifts to the critical and high-risk human elements of proactive policing by covering Confidential Informants and the legalities of Search Warrants. Officers will learn the strict protocols for the Development and Management of intelligence sources, alongside rigorous Risk Assessment frameworks to prevent operational compromises or ethical breaches. This intelligence is then paired with comprehensive instruction on Search Warrants, giving officers a thorough Overview of constitutional requirements and a breakdown of Common Issues that frequently threaten evidence admissibility during judicial review. The training culminates in Mission Planning, a phase that bridges the gap between investigative intelligence and successful, safe operations. Participants will learn how to synthesize all case data into a comprehensive Target Package, ensuring no actionable detail or safety hazard is overlooked. Finally, the curriculum covers the mechanics of Tactical Execution, teaching officers how to safely coordinate, brief, and deploy specialized teams to mitigate risk, protect the public, and ensure flawless operational safety during high-stakes actions.
